Research Interests
My research interests are urban ecology, plant-animal interactions in respect to seed predation and dispersal in warm-temperate forests and urban forest patches, and wildlife conservations. I look at 1) the ecological consequences of rapid urbanizations, how plants and animals respond to urban environments, and their implications to ecological-based management and conservation of urban green lands; 2) plants-rodents/birds interactions as to seed predation, hoarding, and dispersal, here, I highlighted how plants manipulate small rodents and birds increasing seed dispersal by regulating seed traits, and the ecological net-works between plants and small rodents/birds, and their contributions to plant regeneration and community structure of forests; And 3) wildlife conservation and pests controlment, in which, I look at the ecological-based control and management of pest rodents in forests and farmlands; effects of habitat fragmentation and urbanization on wild plants and animals, and how plants and animals respond to rapidly urbanizing in megacities.
