主要研究领域和内容：
行为生态学，进化生物学，保护生物学
主要以两栖类和哺乳类为研究对象，开展动物繁殖行为的进化机制、能量分配策略、生物多样性分布格局及其保护等方面的研究。目前，相关研究成果已在National Science Review, Biological Conservation, Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology, Frontiers in Zoology, Journal of Zoology, Salamandra, Scientific Reports, Ecological Applications, American Journal of Primatology, Animal Behaviour, Integrative Zoology, Science和生物多样性等国内外顶尖和主流期刊发表论文30余篇，受到国内外同行的广泛关注。主持（包括已结题）国家自然科学基金项目3项，环保部、科技部和其他省部级项目10余项，总经费近300万元，参与国家级和省部级项目10余项。2016年获得中国动物学会、中国生态学会和中国野生动物保护协会联合颁发的“全国优秀青年生态学工作者”称号。现为中国动物学会动物行为学专业委员会行为生态(专家)工作组成员，Biological Conservation, Diversity and Distributions, Landscape Ecology, Molecular Ecology, American Journal of Primatology, Global Ecology and Conservation, Integrative Zoology, Asian Herpetological Research, 中国科学，生物多样性等杂志审稿人，国家自然科学基金、质兰环保基金等项目评审专家。参与环保部、国家林业局、湖北省林业厅等组织的濒危物种评估和多个保护区的科考和评估工作，多次参与相关的公众宣教工作。
